What is the purpose of ABA?
ABA can be used to target a variety of skills including:
- Creating a functional means to communicate (verbal, sign language, PECS, etc.)
- Decreasing abhorrent/negative/aggressive behaviors
- Developing social skills & relationships
- Increasing self-help & adaptive living skills (such as toileting, eating, dressing, & grooming)
- Teach coping/perspective taking skills
- Strengthening fine motor, gross motor, & visual perception skills
- Targeting play skills & imitation skills
- Deficits in academic skills (reading, math, spelling, writing, etc.)

When can my child receive ABA?
ABA can be received and benefit individuals of any age, although research supports that the earlier/younger a child is when they begin receiving ABA treatment, the more likely they are to make notable progress.
